Life on the Farm
YosemiteBen:
Hey WB, just wait till fall when it dies back for the year. Cut it off at ground level. Don't mess with it green, it is toxic!
bjrogg:
We have been getting lots of work done yet.
The guys in the shop have made big progress on the cart. That’s good because it won’t be long until we need it.
It’s starting to feel like fall in the air. Was a little chilly the last couple nights and it felt good to get under the blankets.

My sweet corn was a bumper crop. I gave literally tons away. Froze some and enjoyed it for supper too.

It was dry for spreading our cover crop seed and working it in. Then we got some much needed rain. Our cover crop is coming up beautiful and should have really good growing conditions.
I blended a mixture of rye, radish and some old leftover edible bean seed .
Not sure if you can see it in picture but I can see all three coming up here.

My son went on a much deserved vacation (I’m sure he was more tired when he got home than before he left) I took care of his cattle and tried to get as much done for him as I could. I know it’s never fun coming home exhausted from vacation and having all the work to do that piled up while you were gone.
I did manage to get all his rye straw gathered up and stored away.
I’m sure he appreciated it.
His cattle were always happy to see me
