First Osage
« on: October 08, 2023, 01:09:18 pm »
Was shooting my first Osage bow I made today and with the cold weather I started thinking about hunting. Haven’t been in a while but think I could still get a deer out of the woods behind my house.
Anyway I started looking at the old broadheads I have and found some I liked and shot it a few times and it shoot good. Does anyone know what they are? Can’t recall but I’ve had them for probably 40 years. I filed one up a little and got it shaving hair pretty good.

I think I figured it out. I’m thinking they are Zwicky broadheads. I’ve also got some old Bear broadheads that used the bleeder inserts. Don’t think I have the inserts but I’m thinking they would work too.

Zwickys are usually green, Magnus are dark blue.

After shooting this bow a bit I took it back inside and was looking at it and figured I’d put a little paint on the rawhide back. I borrowed the idea from Weylin from a bow he posted on here. I think it was the sturgeon skin bow he posted. I like the result and probably won’t put anything else on it
