How to get big hides to lay flay

How do you get hides like bears and stuff to lay flat? my hides always come out like super wavy.

Are they tanned or worked all the way or do you have some stiff spots?

Hides that have been worked and dried in a frame stay much flatter. Bob

my coons always lay perfectly flat. The bear I did is not completely soft (though it has been softened) but its edges are super wrinkly a frame would make sense maybe ill give that a try, I always hand stretch them.
