Horn delamination repair
« on: March 26, 2022, 08:41:10 am »
I have a sinewed bow wrapped in birch bark with very slightly recurved horn nocks v-spliced in a couple of inches beneath the sinew. The nocks are carved with stringer grooves as well as the string grooves. One of them has delaminated like a pack of cards, with 3 significant splits from tip to string groove, but not past it. I have used runny cyano to pull everything back together. Would it be a good idea to key in a vertical piece of horn as there’s not a lot of space for a linen or sinew wrap?

Last time I tried to post a photo I totally failed, both via Flickr and from my blog library. Both of these have worked in the past so I have no clue over why
