58” 5 piece bamboo hunting bow

superdav95:
So I started making this bamboo hunting bow for a buddy of mine as he loved shooting mine last year.  They are super easy to make and shoot quite well for what they are.  Also if they break no big deal either.  I decided to try a new camo pattern/ stain on this one let me know what you think…  it’s a mix of black, tan, yellow and green.  Wanted something that would blend in nice.  I’ve got to do the wraps on this bow yet and final tiller but other then that she’s almost ready to go.  Hoping to hit around 50# at 28” as that is what mine pulls.  I was fortunate to harvest a nice doe last year with this bow so my buddy is a little more convinced I guess that it can get the job done.

Here’s a couple pics

Cheers

Pretty sweet!
I like the stain. you can get cool effects by leaving the rind on in places. It absorbs dye differently but I guess you will already know that :)

Thanks mike.  Ya that’s what I sorta did here I guess. I put first layer of yellow and worked my way up to black then scraped lightly to break it up.   Bamboo is neat stuff.
