Thin Lam between Boo and Yew

(1/1)

Del the cat:
Hi guys, I'm making a 100# ELB Boo/Yew, but I recon the Yew is a tad thin for the required draw weight.
I'm going to add a thin lam between the boo and Yew, but what wood?
I have lams of Hickory, Ash and some random unidentified golden/brown hardwood, also some Hazel I could saw up into lams.
Any thoughts, ideas, suggestions?

simk:
I'd say either would work. I prefer maple over ash  :) hazel certainly a good option too 👍 looking forward to see it done 👍 weight is my criteria, never seen/heard of a properly done midlam (no checks or major flaws/good grain) fail.

bownarra:
Out of those woods Ash would be the best choice.

Cheers... being an impatient git, I've us ed the Hickory as it was already a clean prep'd lam...
