I've not worked on the stave in the last few days because it started raining and even in the driest place of my house RH got up to 66% and the temperature dropped to 68°F... This should mean more or less 12% moisture content in the stave, a bit too much to continue tillering without gaining set

If your stave was dry when you start working you shouldn´t be much afraid of moisture. BL doesn`t soak moisture quick when it`s dry.
Working some hours won`t damage your wood - that is my experience with BL...

Those are good news since yesterday I worked a bit on it, making sure with a caliper that the thickness taper was as close to perfection as possible, scraping away from the thicker spots and blending in the "steps" where the thickenss was dropping too fast. I've bent it only a cuple of times against the floor to make sure I was not creating weak spots.
