This is a failed project. My fault.
Thought I'll take a picture before it goes to the burn pile.
Love the color sceme.
Will repeat the project in the near future.

Ya it looks great with those contrasting Colors. What was the failure?

Chrysaled where the powerlam ended....
First time laminated black locust. Man this wood is so stiff >:D
Thicknesses chosen like for a 50# IPE version.
I couldnt string this one after glueup. I was aware of it being much too strong but too lazy to carefully tiller it down and also wanted to see what black locust can do....took the stringer and put a string on....estimated a 70-80# bow ;D
lol

Got it. Ya bl is like iron wood hhb. It’s super thin on bows. Your belly lam would be too thin maybe getting down to weight I guess???

thanx Superdave. I have been laminating our local Ironwood (hornbeam) and not experienced this. Don't know HHB.
You are proabaly right about the lam getting too thin getting the weight down.
At least the BL backing prooved to be strong - so there's something good in every failure.
cheers
