Ok here’s my latest venture. I started out with a pretty good dogleg on this one, with a minor twist on the opposite end. The dog leg also had a couple of small whoop dee dues in the last ten inches which I decided to leave. I got it straightened out to my satisfaction, let reactivate for a day and started in slowly.

bentstick54:
I got it to full brace and am now at 45# @ 25” which will put me about 50/51# @ 28”. I want to finish up about 45# @ 28”. After have strung and working on for most the afternoon, after unstringing I have 1/2” of set starting at the #3 line and slowly run to to tip. The tip settles in about 1/2” below original starting point marked on the paper behind the bow on both limbs. I’m planning on the left limb being the lower limb. Widest part at the fades is 1-5/8” fairly even taper to 1/2” at the tips.
Where do I get my last 3” while keeping additional set to a minimum?

bradsmith2010:
it looks good,,just sand or lightly scrape evenly,, you got it,,

bentstick54:
Close up of the set at the tips. Do I try to gain from the inner 1/3 rods, or just keep taking long even strokes from full length of limbs?

bentstick54:
Original profile is red line, approximately limb thickness, above the limb.
