A little fun with mushrooms

Thanks Steve.
Thanks GlisGlis.
I picked this one today.

Very cool Brian. What kind of rock is that?
bjrogg:
Thank you Muskyman. It’s something I got in a trade with Patrick aka Jack Crafty. I think he said it was raw Texas chert. It’s pretty tough stuff. Knaps pretty good but I had a little trouble with the inclusion and fossils. It has some steps and thicker spots. Sharpens up nice though. I think the natural earth tones go good for this design.
I tried to look at the best one yet you posted but for some reason my phone puts post in a different format and I can’t see your picture or reply. Maybe after someone posts a reply it might change back. Glad you had some success.
I made a lot of biface when I got the hang of it. I kept making them and then later I tried to thin them. That helped me learn one step at a time

I’ve got some obsidian 3-6 inch spauls I bought. And was gifted some obsidian. Also have some Georgetown that’s 2 to about 4 or 5 inches. The flint is tuff and you have to whack the crap out of it and obsidian as you know you just got to give it a little whack. I’m going to try and work on some of the bigger stuff I’ve already tried and failed on with my indirect. I’m learning slowly and starting to get a few things figured out.
bjrogg:
I think this must be one of the Black Morels.
I’m not sure if I like this color combination as much, but it’s one nasty, wicked sharp sticker. It’s certainly one of my nicer points.
