bjrogg:
I got this Osage blank in trade blanket trade with Matt W. at one of the primitive archery meets at Marshall Michigan.

It had a ring chased and was reduced close to bow dimensions. I tiller it out to 50 lbs @ 28” a few years back. It’s a very nice piece of Osage and has been shot by a lot of people who have passed through my shop. It’s held its unbraced profile amazingly well.

I finally finished her up. I didn’t like the antler tips I originally used so I replaced them with water buffalo horn tip and then wrapped my handle with black leather from an old couch. Built an arrow shelf from antler.

I forgot how many coats of Tung oil. Really like the color off this old Osage. Thanks for the trade Matt. Miss you around here.

I think I need to make a new string for this one. It’s starting to look a little worn.

Cut this healed over broken tine off for a arrow shelf

Very nice osage bow, Brian. Aged osage is quite beautiful. Matt always has very good osage and usually almost tillered.  :OK  I wish he'd come back to the Classic. I miss seeing him.
