Hop Hornbeam for a freinds daughter.

(1/1)

ajooter:
I friend of mine at work mentioned his little girl wanting a longbow to shoot.  He had offered her a compound but she was adamant about wanting a longbow of sorts.  I had already tried killing this piece of wood a couple times but i figured it would work for a low poundage bow.  Its about 65" ntn and came in between 30 and 35# at 27.  To be quite honest I didnt do a final scaling of the draw weight.  The top limb was set forward quite a bit and I never quite got the bottom limb to come around as far it should have.   But...its a bow.  I even refletched some of her arrows with pink feathers.  Im told she was very happy with the offering.

Muskyman:
Good job jooter. I’m betting a happy young lady.

ajooter:
I forgot to mention this wa actually a hollow limb bow.  My first attempt at that design.   Definitely more labor intensive getting the limbs started in that fashion.

bassman211:
you made her happy. That is what matters.
