Uncle of mine that is a primitive bowyer in the Pacific Northwest insists there are no good elk or bowstaves downhill from the truck!

Very nive Elk.

WhistlingBadger:
Thanks for the congrats, guys!  I'm really happy about this bull.  He has these cool, wavy beams.  Not the hugest bull I've ever seen (but big enough that Mrs. Badger is talking about needing a taller house to hang him up in), but a ton of character and a great memory every time I look at him.

I skinned the skull out and trimmed as well as possible, then my hunting buddy boiled it and got all the brain and cartilage out.  But I think he missed something.  Even after a week soaking in a strong peroxide solution, it STINKS.  Moved it out to the fenced back garden to get it out of the garage for a while and let it dry out.  Maybe I'll squirt some hydrogen peroxide toner inside and try to burn out whatever is causing the stink.  Whew.  Any suggestions?
