Thankyou for that, it goes a long way to confirming my own experience.  I have a yew crossbow I built when new to bow building. Flat belly, but didn’t strip off the sapwood, three layers of sinew, 76 cm ntn, draws to 30cm, way over 100lb, hits like a mule
