failed project but ended up rock solid take down sleeve (pic heavy)

Ok guys i was in the dog house for experimenting with one of my wifes bows. I was attempting to correct an alignment issue and ruined a bow. I made a few attempts to glue it back together to now avail. I then ventured into doing a take down sleeve to cover up my error. The take down sleeve worked but the glued splice from the previous fix failed which now needed to be fixed. I glued up a rough looking splice with new chunk of hickory. then fearing that this would fail i decided to run a strip of dark ipe in the middle of the tenon to beef it up. Eventually it all came together and is now rock solid. the tenon and socket is tight and makes that distintive suction pop when pulled apart. thank goodness! bow saved.
