It's like the one I have but mine doesn't have a handle, only the rasp. Works quite well.

 I've never used one, but I'm aware Shinto Rasp is the original model, like the one in your photo shows.

I've never used one also but seams like it would work better for Ipe.

I have that exact one.  It's awesome!  Just be ready, it will take away wood way quicker than any file or rasp I've ever used.  And the surface finish left behind is surprisingly good.

I use mine more then ANY rasp.  Im due to get a new one actually.

I use mine a lot as well. I found I needed something on the front end of the rest for best control. I use an old stubby screwdriver stuck in rasp blades. Easy to remove when you're switching from the coarse to fine sides. I found two hands are better than one. YMMV
