Newest Osage selfbow

Thanks everyone. All my oldest staves all have a little challenge to them. Last January I  decided to see if they would make bows or firewood. I pulled 6 out, roughed them out, heat straightened them as far as I was brave enough to push them. The 1st one didn’t make it through corrections. This was the the 2nd stave, and I probably have 200+ shots through it, and it feels like it should survive. I’m happy with the way it shoots.

Looks good. I don’t know why but I always like working with the wonky ones.

Thanks Pat and Bj. It’s always fun to see if I can make a shooter out of a character piece. Plus it seems like I have always had more wonky staves to work with. I finally cut a couple trees 1-1/2 years ago that I got some mostly straight staves out of. So maybe in the future I’ll get to enjoy a few of those.
