I had been waiting to launch the new landing page for the results of the BOM contest. Here is our NEW landing page for primitive archer: https://primitivearcher.weebly.com/ Next week I will be talking to the folks who hold our domain and arranging the domain to be switched to the new page so it becomes the only page viewed when entering the website and forum.

JW_Halverson:
Ok, it's bare bones, but workable. This is off to an encouraging start, Kevin! I, for one, am thrilled!

--- Quote ---A subdomain is a part of a main domain that helps organize content, such as a blog or store, and is treated as a separate entity by search engines. While subdomains can be useful for specific purposes, they may not benefit from the main domain's SEO authority as effectively as subdirectories do. seranking.com ignitevisibility.com
Understanding Subdomains in SEO
What is a Subdomain?

A subdomain is a part of a larger domain name, used to organize and separate content on a website. For example, in the URL blog.example.com, "blog" is the subdomain. Subdomains can serve various purposes, such as hosting a blog, an online store, or a specific service.
How Subdomains Affect SEO

Subdomains are treated as separate entities by search engines like Google. This means:

Independent Ranking: Each subdomain is crawled and indexed separately, which can impact its ability to rank in search results.
Backlink Challenges: Subdomains do not automatically benefit from the backlinks of the main domain. Each subdomain needs its own SEO strategy to build authority and gain backlinks.
User Experience: They can enhance user experience by organizing content better, making it easier for visitors to find specific information.

Pros and Cons of Using Subdomains
Pros   Cons
Allows for better organization of content   Treated as separate sites for SEO
Can target niche markets or specific user types   Requires separate SEO efforts for each subdomain
No additional cost for creating subdomains   May complicate data tracking and analysis
When to Use Subdomains

Consider using a subdomain if:

The content is significantly different from the main site.
You want to create a distinct user experience for a specific audience or service.
You are managing a large organization with multiple departments or services.

In general, if the content is closely related to the main site, using a subdirectory (like example.com/blog) may be more beneficial for SEO.
