I thought I would post one of my favorite bows.

I build this one a few years ago. Length is 67.5". Originally tillered to 45# @ 28". Weight, including string and handle/tip wraps is 595 g (20.9 Oz)

After several years of shooting and several thousand shots, it developed only 1" of string follow. I recently gave the belly a new heat treat and reflexed the last 4 inches by 1 1/2 " using dry heat. Poundage increased to 50# and string follow after about 250 shots fell to zero.

It's a stable a smooth shooter and with the right arrows I've had tight groups at 60 feet. I love this bow, particularly the worm patterns that were hiding underneath the cambium.

Thanks! I did indeed. My pyramid flat bows usually come out a little whip ended. I don't think that is unusual for that design. TBB talks about that in the sections on design/performance and tiller profiles.

I believe that by reflexing the tips I've asked the outer limbs to bend more. The near handle wood and midlimb are very wide and very flat, but since this bow has been a real steady shooter I did not want to retiller it and lose extra poundage after i reflexed it. I'm sure the bow could be more efficient with mass distribution but it shoots great so it does not bother me.

Here's a shot before I retinkered with it. You'll see it's already slightly whip tillered here. At this stage it had already been shot in over 2000x and had only 1" of follow, which I would call great.

Ya when I put reflex mostly in the last 10” of the limb it requires more thickness toward the tips to hold the reflex. It also makes the need for either thicker limbs at fades to about ten inches out or parallel out 8-10”. The bow probably does not stack at all. I like it.

yep! Tips are 13mm, the rest of the bow is mostly about 7mm. It doesn't stack at all, very smooth!
