Best wood for 450-500 gr, FOC arrows?

I've built lots of shoot arrows (mostly sourwood) and cane(mostly hill cane) and yes, you have to work each shaft individually but you can get a matched set. It is a labor love but the joy you get from it is worth it.  :OK

It’ll go board to board on what you get exactly. But if you cut your own shafts, mahagony gets you numbers close to what you are after.
