Silver Springs knap in

Anyone going?

I’m curious about this event. Would love to hear from people who have attended and better yet regularly attended.

I might, depending on my recovery from back surgery. I know Steve Parnel is planning on going as of yesterday, He is closing on 12 wooded acres Tuesday just north of Ocala. Roger, (Bonepile) is usually there with Claude VanOrder.

If you have to pull the trigger, is it really archery?

Thanks Eddie I was hoping you would reply. I think I have made up my mind my wife and I are going. Really curious about the event. I text Allyn T and he said he went last year and it was great.

Now I’m wondering about where to stay? If there’s other wives for my wife to visit with? Is there anything I need to do to be able to join in knapping or making bows?

I’m thinking about trying to rent a cabin at the moment but I haven’t checked to see if ones available yet.

I would love to meet Rodger and Steve

Hi Brian,

Yes, I’ll see how things progress in the next weeks and if we can make it work.  There will be plenty to do coming up but it would be great to shoot over to the event.

Sounds like an exciting time for you Steve. Hope everything goes smoothly. Hope to see you

I think we are going. Not sure where we will be staying. I tried to look online and don’t think any of the cabins were available.

Brian, plenty of Motels in Ocala and the Silver Springs Park is open. The last time I went it was free parking and admission. There are plenty of food vendors along with a lot of people selling rock and knapping tools. There is plenty to keep your wife occupied, I know my wife enjoyed going every year. It is an eight hour drive for me, now.

Thanks Eddie. I think that’s what we are going to do for this year. We will see how things go. Maybe if we really like it we might even pull our trailer down and stay awhile next time.

Hope your back surgery goes well.

My wife and I did attend this event. We made it into a nice vacation. Visited some relatives and enjoyed the park.

Did meet Allyn T and his son . Was nice to meet them both.
And he purchased a very nice piece of Mokite. Can’t wait to see what he does with it.

Then my wife and I spent a day checking out the park. Walked some beautiful paths. We didn’t kayak but there were really nice river paths to

We did take the glass bottom boat tour and we both really enjoyed it. I would recommend it and our captain was a good one.

Was a great trip and nice to thaw out a bit

It’s good to be home again though and every day is another day closer to spring.
