I've had quite a bit of time to make bows recently and I'm hoping to keep at it. HHB is definitely my favorite wood so far.
Stickbow Felty, the stain is called erolano red, it's an ocher type earth pigment from italy. I mixed it with 1lb cut shellac for application as a stain and used about 3 light coats. I'm enjoying experimenting with natural pigments and shellac to do decorations under my finishes.
