Yup, and I use that knowledge all the time when making bows with character. As long as the grain run off is gradual, and tapered, you can get away with some things you wouldn't expect.

I would be afraid of over drawing it at 28”. Plus after my back surgery I’m struggling getting back up to 40# at 28”. Hoping by Texas Longbow shoot I can get back up to 44# to 46#.
