site issues

I have been having PA site issues for a while, I get a " this site can't be reached" on one try, try again and things go through but loading is at a snails pace, pictures are visible sometimes, other times they aren't but some of them show if I keep reloading the thread.

I did have some of the same problems on the American Longrifle site, that site uses the same format as PA. Other members were experiencing the same problems so the owner went to to the host and was able to get things straightened out but it took a while to figure out what was wrong.

I don't have any problems on the myriad of other sites I visit, all are blazingly fast to access.

I just upgraded my internet speed because I had some freeze ups on Paramount + but not on any of my other streaming services.

Anybody else have problems? The guy at Paramount + said my problem was with my cable provider (comcast), no problems anywhere else but I paid to double my internet speed anyway, Paramount + and the PA sight are still iffy for me.

I have the same issues, Eric, and occasionally my computer just flat refuses to go to the site because of an expired security certificate.  Last I heard Sleek was trying to raise the funds to work some sort of magic with the servers.  Hopefully soon--this stuff has been going on for a long time.  Then there are the constant, "This bathing Amish girl is a feast for the eyeballs!"-type ads.

I pay $35 a year for a dedicated ad blocker, some of the best money that I ever spent, I don't ever see a popup ad on any site.

I don't have a smart phone and do all my web surfing on a PC, before I got the ad blocker I might have a dozen ads pop up every time I tried to read a thread.

I am having the same problem Eric, I just sent a message to Sleek, I hope we can get this addressed soon, it is getting worse, it just take money so we need to figure it out. Just please all , be patient and don't give up on the site.

Before I got this site, our largest number of visitors per day was 2,000 something people. Right now, as of yesterday, its 10,700 visits, in one day. That traffic is slowing our server down, causing the page to not load. As for the ads, I need to update the server and the version of the forum we are on. Its been so long since the site maintenance has been done, the cost is kinda high. Im not making any money from this site so its costing me a few thousand a year to keep the status quo, updates is out of my range right now. It will cost on the low side several thousand to change everything over to get the page running ad free and faster. As soon as I can get the money, ill fix it.

The end of year giveaway is supposed to help finance the site. The first one was semi successful, it raised enough money to pay for 3 months of operation ( im billed quarterly ) but im hoping this next one will raise the funds to fix this site. Im sorry its not what any of us want the page to be, but it can be, I just need participation.

Wow, that's great news!  We just need to find a way to shake all those people down for a dollar each and we'd be golden.
