Question about Osage and bamboo?? And bow build

bjrogg:
Afraid all I can do is wish you luck and keep watching Arvin. I’m afraid I do most of my measuring with my fingers.

Curious how the tiller and draw weight will be.

Wishing you Good Luck

Bjrogg

RyanY:
Really cool experiment Arvin. I hope it turns out well. I imagine it’s a hard scenario to predict the effect of the laminations on the weight of the bow. I wonder if for this method you could hollow out most of the inner fibers of bamboo and flatten out the rind that is doing all the work. Would make it very thin and flat. Not necessarily a suggestion for this one but a thought on the potential in general.

same size handle,same length.

i would go by thickness only and see where you end up.
On the next one you will be able to zero in better.

Selfbowman:
Two belly laminates done.

Selfbowman:
Ok Willie this look right my laminates are done. And my record bow thickness is on the left side.laminates I n the middle and future bow blank thickness on the right.
