I watched this launching and was as thrilled as I was watching the first man in space, the first moon orbit and the moon landing putting a man on the moon. Very cool.
My wife's grandmother had her bicycle fixed by the Wright Brothers in Dayton Ohio and many years later she watched the first man on the moon.
What will the future see in the next 100 years? 50 years? 20 years?

Growing up in the 80s and 90s i was always very jealous of folks like you who got to see all that happen
I was a huge space nerd. I knew all the names of all the astronauts, I had so many space missions memorized and their rockets statistics. I knew about this Orion project back in the 90s, sadly it didnt develope as conceptualized but maybe oneday... My grandpa worked for NASA and really fed into it. I got goosebumps watching this launch, was so excited I broke out into laughter watching that big candle lite up and lift off. I cant believe this is happening and I get to see it! That link is a non stop live feed and I watched it till 3am last night, and will watch ut non stop until they splash down.

Thay is super cool about your wife's grandmother. I got to ask, do you still have the bike?

Nope, don't have the bike. It would be worth a fortune today.
I hope this new launch gets kids excited like the Apollo and other launches did back in the day.
I was born in 1950 so I remember Sputnik and the Russian's dogs and monkey launches. Those launches got NASA to really work to get our space program kicking which got us to the moon. John Kennedy called for it and it happened.
