Thumb Ring

(1/2) > >>

Pat B:
Justin sent me some cow and Am. Bison horns a while back and lately I've been thinking about making a thumb ring. I asked James(robustus) to draw an outline on the cow horn for me when we were at Hickory. Well, a few days ago I began work on it and this is what I came up with.
The thumb hole in a thumb ring is oval, not round. You slip your thumb in the oval shaped hole and twist the ring so the "tongue" of the ring lays over the thumb. By twisting the ring you lock it onto your thumb so it doesn't come off during the shot. Well, when all done, I realized the oval was going the wrong way so if I used this thumb ring it would pull off the thumb when shot. The oval should go up and down, not horizontal. ::)
I feel good about the results, otherwise, so I'll try again using this one as a sample and example.   Here are some pics.....

Yea, Jesse beat me to it. It will get soft. I'll see if I can get a picture up of the one I made.
