Elm bark quiver
George Tsoukalas:
Love it. Nice idea. Did you wet it before bending? jawge
thimosabbv:
Thanks guys.
No Jawge, I took it off fresh last sunday and tied it greed around a smaller diam sappling trunk. Then today I spred glue on the inside and lined it with leather, put two layers of thick rawhide on the bottom, laced it up and let it dry. Then coated it in a layer of spar varnish.
osprey:
That is a Thing of beauty! I have a nine and a half foot log of elm about 8in in diameter that I am about to split up for bow wood, can you tell me how to remove the bark so that I can do that without having to piece a lot of it together?
DanaM:
Nice quiver Thimo, I have some elm bark I saved want to do the same.
Pappy:
Thats a beauty,I thought about doing that with the bark off the Hickory we cut but was afraid it would be to heavy, how is that one as for weight,it sure looks cool. :)
