Deersled, I bought hard wood dowells of different diameters trying to have the right size to be close to matching the varying hollow sizes in the cane. I drilled out the hollow trying to keep it to a minimum of removing material to fit in the closest diameter dowell. I cut the dowells around 1-1/4" and glued in with TBIII on both the nock and fieldpoint ends. I used an electric sanding disc to taper the shaft for the field points. Most of them I had to touch up by hand some to get to fit.
I think on future cane arrows I'll for sure to group by weight, and spine test them as well. I mostly went only by weight this time and had several that didn't fly well out of my bow. Hopefully the deer will cooperate this fall! ;)
