Fletching With a jig Question

(1/2) > >>

david w.:
I am using my brothers bitsinburger(sp?) jig to fletch up a batch of shafts from PatB.(What a guy! :))   It is a right helical jig.  My question is can i use left wing feathers with a right helic jig?   I stripped a ton of left wing and i would like to use them intsaed of having them lay around waiting for the next project.

snakebow:
does'nt work. I tried it once.

Minuteman:
You'd be better off not trying it. ;)

david w.:
thanks for the answers.  I did put one feather on to see what it would look like and it did look wierd.  I will have to scrape it off and put a new wrap on now.

DBernier:
I have a RH, LH, and a straight clamp. When I "striped" the LH feathers and used the straight clamp, I slightly offset the clamp to the right. Worked fine and they are still holding. Remember all you want in the "rear" is some drag to stabilise the arrow.
