Kirk Points Please...

(1/6) > >>

PeteDavis:
...around western Virginia, the Kirk tradition is by far the most abundant early Archaic point found, especially in the mountain sites. Here's my little take on it, you can be a kid again, just make your own! From left: stemmed, serrated and corner notched. C'mon fellers'(and gals) show your Kirks, please!

sonny:
those are cool !! what material did you make them from ??

I especially like how you thinned the base of the stemmed point. would make hafting a little simpler it seems....

PeteDavis:
texas flint on the left two, flint ridge on the right

The F.R. is waaay easier!

FlintWalker:
Here's one from Cowboy. It's out of some of that tough Texas stuff too.   Saw Filer

I'm happy to get a pointy end and a broader end.  I've a lot to learn before I classify them as a particular style.

Great job there Pete.
