My first primitive hunting arrows.

(1/7) > >>

Ryano:
I'm pumped about using these baby's this year! My first time using stone points and natural shafts for hunting. The points are obsidian from Justin Snyder, that my neighbor outbackbob48 knaped for me in exchange for some stone. The points are hafted with pine pitch glue and whitetail sinew and the Cain arrows, and sinew wraps are finished with pine pitch varnish. One weighs 560 grains and the other one 565. All and all I couldn't be more pleased with the way these arrows came out, They shoot right were I'm looking.  I just hope I can manage to run one threw a nice buck this fall.  >:D  ;D

Papa Matt:
Killer arrows Ryan! The fletching is awesome. Did you put pitch on the vein of the feather to make it stick to the shaft as well or are they just loose and laying flat?

~~Papa Matt

Ryano:
Matt, I cheated a little bit and used the fletching tape to hold the feathers in place  :-[ but they are wrapped on both ends and the middle with sinew.  ;)

cowboy:
Those are some great looking arra's Ryan - I fugure you'll be sticking one in a deer soon :). I'm still laboring on mine - just put a coat of reddish dye on em, the color almost exactly matches yours.

sailordad:
the only thing that could make them arrows more spectacular looking would be some meat sticking on the tips >:D

very nice wish i had them
