I like the heavy, slower combination with deer.  The arrows seem quieter off the bow, but when they make contact with the ribcage, it sounds like you hit the deer with a sledge hammer.

Both of my hunting bows this year are in the 45# range and my came arrows are 550gr to over 600gr. I don't have proof yet  ::) but they should work fine for deer. I shooting cane arrows with 2 feather fletching and stone and obsidian heads.     Pat
