Milling questions - sawing blanks

So,

I've got some big yew planks to mill up,  they are 3" thick slabs,  cut straight through the tree.  So to be quarter sawn,  they will be 3 inches wide,  but how thick do you think I should get them milled.  This will be the back to belly dimension,  I am thinking 2.25 inches,   how does this sound.

Ooooh goody! Can I get one or two? I really want to try a maple or ash backed yew war bow. The one Marc St Louis made (which won BOM) is awesome! Let me know when you have some boards milled, and we can do a trade. Thanks!
