According to a local geologist, "thunder chert" or Johnstone is technically known as "crapite". 

I think your points look great, I'd feel no shame shooting those in the field.  And as a side note, Rit brand dyes will color the stone if you feel like blending into the woods...or standing out, depending on your color choice!
