any good for a bow?

i got these two peices if wood one is hazle the more golden one and the other is white beam do either look like they would make a goood bow they are 72" roughly i am looking at making a self bow for a total beginer any advice welcomed

The "white beam" looks to be the right diameter for a bow.....I don't think the hazel will work.  But you won't know until they are dry.  Seal then ends and go buy a dry oak board (or twenty) to practice on. ;D

What is white beam? They both look to be a little on the skinny side to me. Might make a bow but not a very heavy one.

The hazel looks a bit skinny, but you may be able to make a lighter weight bow if you make it bend through the handle.

ty guys for the info i amof to find some thicker peices hope fully ill find some moutain ash i heard so much about whilst reading yesterday ill post pics of what i find
