Tradepoint question

(1/2) > >>

Radon:
Hej all,

I am going to craft some tradepoints just for the fun of it (since there is no bowhunting over here).
Now I wonder about the size. I was thinking about 15/16" wide and a length of the cutting edge of 1 7/8".
Which dimensions do you use? Since I probably want to use them as presents or trading objects, they also should be legal to hunt with in the US. How big do they have to be?

Thanks for your help

Stefan

knightd:
In Most states they need to be at least 7/8" wide..

mullet:
  I usually make mine 1" x 2".

Hillbilly:
Like Eddie said, 1"x2" is a pretty good size, gives you room for a few sharpenings, plus it's a good compromise l/w ratio for penetration without bending too much when you hit bone. Like David mentioned, most states require at least 7/8" width and no barbs.

Little John:
I have made them all different sizes, but like 7/8" by up to three inches.   Kenneth
