Ash shaft finish...?

(1/2) > >>

PaulN/KS:
Just got a dozen tapered ash shafts from The Nocking Point and I'm wondering what a good finish might be? I'm thinking wipe them with some Watco oil stain then maybe some tru oil finish to seal them. Don't have a dip tube so need to keep it simple and without laquer.
Any ideas...?

El Destructo:
Tung Oil works good..........

I just made some arrows from ash.  I used a water base aniline dye, then used Waterlox brand tung oil.  I use it quite a bit on arrows it is durable yet not shiny.

DanaM:
Tung oil, True Oil, Spar Varnish lard, wax, heck just about anything will work

Hillbilly:
Tru-oil is cheap, easy, and effective.
