I've heard D.C. wastes a LOT of stone.  I've never met the guy, but I've got his Art of Flintknapping video and I've seen him make some huge mistakes.  Maybe he was just nervous being on camera, but he seemed to be a "whack master", just swinging his billet and smashing a lot of stone.  He made some glaring errors, didn't set up his edges well and crushed edges on several occasions.  Maybe it's because he does it for a living and doesn't have the time to be meticulous and careful.

Auggie:
I thought I was interested in the DC dvd till I read this so how about some other choices for a novice knapper?

PeteDavis:
"Flintknapping-Art of the Ancients"

Woody Blackwell

I am sure everybody here will pile on and trash Woody Blackwell, he has engaged in some pretty shaky business practices. But his video is by far the best of the seven I have gotten. And he's a great knapper to boot.
