What Kinda point is this

I was told it was made by a Cherokee, Don't know what type of point it is.

A nice one................. ::)My guess would be a Kirk corner notch.Looks glassy do you know what's it made of?

Actually, Cherokees didn't have obsidian back in aboriginal times so it's probably a modern made point.  Prehistoric corner notched points found in Cherokee country are usually Palmer or Kirk Corner notched.  Both are pretty old....early Archaic times (9,000-7,000 years old I believe, but don't quote me on the dates, they may be a little off).

Yep, that's probably a tourist point (made for the tourist trade).  I think the Cherokees originally made points similar to the ones in the photo below.  (The large point in the middle is a knife blade...the others are arrowheads.)

Its a modern, I bought it at an antique store for 5 dillers,the owner said it was Cherokee made, I don't know

I would call it a corner-notched point. :) Most of the Cherokee points found here from the period between contact and before they got guns are small triangles, narrow elongated triangles, and the occasional corner/side notched point.
