Great pics Clint, I bet your sharpening your broadheads in anticipation huh.

Sweet! I've been waiting for this thread. Look forward to it every year. You always seem to be me to starting it. Thanks Clint. I'll be checking my cameras this weekend. You have a couple nice bucks there!
Tattoo Dave

Those are 2 nice ones!

Here's one

Same one different angle
-
You guys have some nice deer in your areas there, nice pics.
-
Oh that's a nice one
-
They aren't all like this guy but it seems to be a really good year for big bucks this year. Osage I sent you another PM I don't know if any of those pictures made it to you I think I'm doing your email wrong
Bjrogg
-
That is a nice wide buck. Looks like he has some junk on the bases. I bet he breaks some of those off fighting unless you get him early. It's hard to tell from your picture but it looks like it has some burrs stuck to it. I've been seeing that a lot on the deer in my pictures. The wet summer must have been good for the burrs.
You can see them stuck to the doe and fawns in this picture.

My brother in law cut the field for me. This doe came out to feed when he was still mowing.

Cool pics guys. I need to get my camera back out. Lucy Brown, our chocolate lab has been telling us about a bear in the neighborhood over the last few nights.
-
Nice pictures guys, Beau put 3 out a couple of weeks on our place, I need to get him to check them and see what's on them, maybe this weekend. :)

It's always fun watching the Bucks all bunched up. Really nice bucks and pictures Osage not long now.
Bjrogg
-
Clint, your trail cam pics get me fired up every year!! Thanks for posting. You guys have got some fine deer. Saw a little six point last night on the road and the velvet was gone. Forty days till hunting season - I can't wait.
-
Nice pictures, Clint what have you got in that corner, seems all the deer like that spot for some reason.
Beau pulled the cards and checked them out yesterday on 3 camera's :), I didn't get a copy of the pictures, no real big bucks but several 8's and 7"s and some smaller scrub bucks and lots of doe. I told him to send them to me, if he dose I will post them.
Pappy
-
Heres a few
-
Pappy, They are always crossing that corner of the field there. I think that's the busiest spot on our property. I've been dumping out some leftover grain out there to give them something to snack on.
Arrowbuster, Nice pictures. I'm always excited to get a bobcat on camera.
-
Clint yes I am also, last year I had one walk in front of cam with a squirrel in his mouth, dang shame pics were blurry. Cool picture just the same though.
-
They are starting to get more common around here. The first time I took my daughter hunting we had one walk by our ground blind 15 yards away. I've been hunting for 25 years and that was my first live sighting. My Dad has never seen one. My daughter gets to see one her first time out.
-
Great pics fellas.
-
I love this thread! Keep 'em coming!
-
I put my trail cam out a few days ago. We have had lots of coyotes and a few bears around(hear coyotes and the dog tells us about the bears) so I'm curious to see what the camera has captured. I'll check it this weekend.
-
Ill be in Michigan's thumb this October if anybody needs to find me. I will be staying in my camper behind the Rogg farm :)
-
I thought you might be considering that Pearl. I was a little Leary to even post those pictures on the web. I think that's the 2nd nicest live buck I've ever seen. Kinda puts me in a delima, I always said my QDM is take out the ugly racks leave the nice ones. I've taken some ugly ones now I suppose not to be a hypocrite I should leave the nice one. lol. It would be easier to leave him if I knew nobody else would take him, at least through the rut. I'm almost hoping I see him a lot but don't get a shot at him, does that sound incredibly stupid?
Bjrogg
-
BJ I'm willing to bet your whole idea of hunting is about to get flipped over on its head. Once you start chasing critters with wood and wood you really put emphasis on the hunt and enjoying your hard fought gear, and not so much what the arrow is aimed at. If you can get your arrow in ANY buck, you will be doing cartwheels. I guess what I'm saying is your mind set will probably change and "buck management" wont be so important to you. I could be wrong? I guess we will find out in a few weeks.
-
I'm sure your right Pearl, right now I'd be doing cartwheels if I got a groundhog. I'm very much looking forward to getting out there with my stuff and just enjoying the hunt. I'm pretty sure I'm in for some humble pie yet but any time I can get out hunting is great. I don't figure on getting very picky about what I shot but probably what kinda shoot I shot. It's all gonna be so different, I can see it in my mind but I know that's probably not how it will happen. Maybe I'll be surprised.

I checked my cameras this past weekend. What a let down that was. Found one camera to no longer be working, won't power up even with brand new batteries. The other camera only had 9 pics on it, and every pic was so blurry I couldn't tell if it was a doe or a small buck, and 3 of the 9 pics were of my ugly mug. Probably check again this weekend and maybe move my one working camera to a new spot.
Tattoo dave

Good looking buck bj, hope you get a crack at him, Like Pearl said thoughts seem to change when you break out the stick and string only for most folks. I manage my deer by what I hunt with, that's management enough for me. :) Also never really figured why folks manage deer if they are going to let the nice one pass, I thought that was the point to have nice ones to take, :-\ of course to me they are all nice ones, I tell folks that I will only take a 20 incher, of course I am talking about back strap. ;) :) :) Hope for all you guys the best this year, it is almost here for us, the 24th of this month. :)
Pappy
-
Thanks Pappy, I'm really not a big QDM guy I actually argue with them because they say take at least 4 points on one side. To me it makes more sense to take the really odd shaped racks and leave the nice shaped ones for stock. I agree they are all nice ones and I really do enjoy watching them through out the year. I'm sure IF I get anything I'm going to be as proud as I was when my Wife gave me my 1st born child.
Dave I know what you mean about the cameras. My one just seems like it hardly ever triggers to take a picture anymore (it never was real good at it) and now my one that took these pictures quit working says error 50 hope I can figure it out. Mine take really blurry pictures in the morning when they are fogged up from dew. Also really helps to aim them north away from sun.

I feel like the trophy for me is age, both does and bucks, although I don't pass a 1 and a half or two and a half year old as often as I will a buck that age. I have a feeling this year I won't be passing on any opportunities till the freezer is stocked
-
These aren't trail camera pictures. I noticed something laying in my parents driveway this afternoon. I grabbed my binoculars and checked it out. It was a bobcat! I took a few pictures through the window and then went outside to try to get closer. I got a few more pictures and then my parents drove in the lane and scared it off.

Really cool Osage, so neat when you can see them in person I've got a few bald eagle pictures not real good ones but they always bring back the memories.
Bjrogg
-
Weird. Wonder if its unhealthy?
-
I don't think so Pearly. It looked like it was just chillin'. When it saw us it got up and took off into the woods. The squirrels weren't very happy with it. We could hear them barking at it.
-
That is an unusual bobcat pic you have there Clint. We have lots of them down here and you hardly ever see one that isn't hauling ass to get away from you. I have never seen one laying down.
-
This ones not from my camera but I know the property well. I'm definitely seeing nicer bucks this year not sure why, maybe mild winter maybe QDM I really don't know but it's sure nice seeing them.
Bjrogg
-
I checked my trail cam and only pics of me setting it up and me and my wife walking past. I have now moved it to the corn feeder below the kitchen window. I just started putting corn out again yesterday so it may take a few days. Probably start out with squirrels and crows. ::)
-
Once the crows find something it doesn't take long for everything to find it.
Bjrogg
-
Nothing like yours bj, but potential meat in the freezer, these are from a couple of stan sites, lots of day time movement which is good. ;) :)
Pappy
-
Few more, some nice looking does and looks like plenty of youngans this year. :)
Pappy
-
Looks normal to me on the cat. looks like a pretty confident little female to me. I sure treasure all the times I have got a glimpse of these animals but they always seem to be rather tough acting and wanting to let you know that they are in charge of the situation, not the inferior human. Kinda like most cats. I am sure that one is feeling pretty safe around the humans it tolerates every day.
-
Nice pictures Pappy. I bet those deer will be in the freezer before to long.
Chief RID, I think you are right about it feeling safe. My parents saw it cross their driveway the day after I took those pictures. It must be living nearby. There is a small pond in the woods there. It's probably crossing there to get a drink.
-
Nice pictures Pappy, if I was a betting man I'd bet there's a better chance for filling the freezer in your pictures, so far all I got is pictures and that may very well be all I end up with. lol.
Chief Rid, I've never seen a live Bobcat but I was thinking exactly what you said. Looks to me like just doing what cats do and didn't feel threatened. I have seen some trail cam pictures of them not far from here. Not sure if we really have some or if someone let one go here. Several years ago we had a Wolverine in the neighborhood, not sure how it got here but it lived here for several years before it died a natural death.
Bjrogg
-
I've seen a live bobcat before....at the zoo
-
Great to see them in shooting light Pappy! I saw a bobcat out at one of our spots a couple times last year, just beautiful, she went by underneath me and chased some turkey I didn't even know were there. Nice pictures everyone, love seeing em
-
On my way to a nearby town here a few miles away in october once a mother and at least 4 kittens went across the road in front of me.Nice to see.Seems like anywhere there are lots of bunnies and mice the bobcats are around there.
Nice pictures of that cat Clint.I'm a little surprised not seeing more coyotes.
-
Not a trail cam pic but cool just the same, first scrape of the year I have found, don't mean much this time of year but love seeing them around just the same. :)at least you know their is some bucks in the area. :)
Pappy
-
It won't be long now Pappy.
-
Yep a week from this Saturday for us, man time flies, seems like it just closed . :-\
Pappy
-
October 1st for us. I don't even have my stands out yet. I've been to busy with other stuff.
-
Beau and I put out 5 Saturday before last, I put out 2 more on Labor day and 2 yesterday. Got maybe 1 or 2 more and should be good until early Nov. ;) :) I like options depending on lots of little things going on. :)
Pappy

I moved the trail cam to this corn feeder we can see from the kitchen window and bought new corn to add. The fresh corn sat there for 2 or 3 days before anything messes with it. I could tell it wasn't a deer because none of the corn on the ground was eaten and only some of the corn in the feeder. Here are a few pics of the culprit. I got 16 pics over 3 nights of this young bear...

We've had a rash of coyotes around too. About day break this morning a flock of geese flew over honking and that got the coyotes stirred up. It sounded like 100 of them but with the goose calls too it was hard to tell. I thought for sure I'd get at least one coyote pic but I was wrong.
-
I'm surprised they don't destroy things.Very cool place your living at there Pat.Love it.But there's always a price to pay at times though too.....lol.
-
Ed, I keep the corn in the galvanized trash can in the pic. In one pic he is sniffing it but hasn't tried to open it ..YET! Last year a bigger bear tried to get in the can and dented it up and rolled it around. I have a screen door spring with an "S" hook on each end that goes under the top handle and hooks on the side handles. I did this to keep the coons out, not thinking about bears. So far it has held up but I know time is getting short before one gets in it.
-
Nice picture Pat. Man my wife would freck, you should see her when I have a picture of coyote on her "walking trail" you'd think it was a pack of hungry wolves.
Bjrogg
-
We have 2 pics trail from a few years ago, one with Marcia and I walking down the driveway and in the second one a bear crossing the driveway 6 minutes before us. We both love knowing that these critters are out there and we can share our home with them, or vice versa. That's why we bought 25ac almost 30 years ago...to get away from people and have nature all around us...and we succeeded at both. 8)

Great pictures Pat. Looks like he is sitting at the dinner table.

Cool pictures Pat. :)

...all of a sudden Maggie haphazardly ran up the hill through the bushes... than Luck ran off. It seems the bear opened a yellow jacket's nest last night too, right next to the feeder. Both dogs got hit, both are OK. This is the first yellow jacket nest I've found this year. Usually I find at least a few and usually at least one gets me...but so far, not this year. I was fortunate enough to be far enough away to not get hit. Once they calm down a bit I'll pull the card from the camera to see who caused all this commotion.
-
You better be careful messing with those bears Pat. You never know when you will find one in a bad mood.
-
It's the damn yellow jackets I'm afraid of. This young bear is just a goof ball. ;) This time of year Momma bears have run the young males off to prepare for the mating season. These young juveniles, like with all species, are the trouble makers, the ones that get into mischief.
-
Well, it wasn't Bozo. Probably his Mom. You can see this is a much bigger bear...

Thanks Derik.
Pat, that's a big bear. If I had those on my property I'd be packing a 44 mag. anytime I left the woods.
We started putting up our stands today. I grabbed the camera card while we were out. I'm not sure what this guy was doing. I guess he was feeling his oats.

Now that's a nice one, hope you get a crack at that buck or the yote. ;) Either or. ;) :)
Pappy
-
Pat, if you're not gonna stick a broadhead in it I'd for sure bust his butt with some Blunts.
-
Pat, we had one about that size poking around here. He's since moved on. Maybe he wandered up your way.
-
He/she was back 2 days ago, at about 9:30pm. Knocked over the corn container again but nothing was inside. I'll wait a little longer before I start putting out corn again. The funny thing is we haven't had any deer at our trail cams lately. My wife thinks it because of the bears and coyotes, I'm not sure why myself. All we usually get is does, yearlings and fawns anyway.
-
Just got back from camp...did a little firewood cutting getting ready for some colder weather....these are some of the first pictures I've gotten this year. I have two weeks worth of pictures and have no bucks during the day. day time pictures are doe only. also I see that the next time i'm out there I need to cut the weeds down in front of the camera, it's getting a flash back from the camera at night...... the floor of the woods is really thick this year around my hunting area. We have had good rain all summer long. The acorns are everywhere, good mast crop this year. I've got a couple of small 8 points, a small 10 point and a 9 point that has a forked G2. This is the most bucks I've seen this early on camera in years..... They usually aren't in the deep woods until later in the season. I guess it's all the acorns...
-
Here's the 8 points.........
-
Them boys ain't camera shy are they?
-
Those are nice deer Bill, do whatever it takes to keep 'em around until I get there. ;D
-
Under my tree stand opening day at 1:45
-
I wasn't in this stand at the time because I got chased into my gun blind by the rain but I was watching him as these pictures where being taken
Bjrogg
-
I'd pull the string on either one of them.....lol.Nice pics Danzn Bar or nice deer rather.
The same goes for your deer bowtarist.
I've got good sign around here of scrapes already.
-
You bet bjrogg.Handsome looking fella there!!!!Hope you get a shot.
-
Thanks Ed, I passed on 2 does and 4 fawns from that stand tonight. I'm not against shooting a doe but not now and not there. I want to keep them around that stand for awhile. I had bow all lined up on a doe just had to draw, they were danger close. That's what hunting is all about exciting hunt and didn't even pull the string
Bjrogg
-
PS I've seen a couple scrapes already to Ed, got a stand in pine tree by one.
Bjrogg
-
Good looking bucks Bill. I hope they stick around for the guys to get a shot at them.
BJ, hopefully that buck comes back out by your stand on a dry day.
-
Love that forked G2 Bill.
Bjorgg, bet you wish you'd a braved the rain.
Nice bucks guys.
-
Here are a few more of Big Bertha. The can was empty so she just knocked it over again then checked out the camera. This guy was the first on the scene...

A bit earlier this morning I took the dogs for walk. Down in the garden area our scarecrow was attacked last night. I'll get a few pics of that too in a little while. I had a trail cam down there out it has bee acting up ad did't get pics of the activities. I also found where something, probably the bear, had pulled down a limb on a Cousa Dogwood to get to the fruit. I'll post pics of that too.
-
bjrogg.....The season is just beginning here and the weather forecast is good so I don't blame ya for waiting him out.Hopefully those does will keep coming by for later if he does'nt show up.
-
Does your state have a bear season Pat?
-
We do, Ed. It starts Oct. 17 and runs through Nov. 19 with a shorter season later. I have no desire t hunt bears though.
-
I think those does will hang around for awhile yet Ed. I watched them come out in that same spot the last 2 nights. If it was a lone doe or little buck I wouldn't have thought twice. I was afraid if I shot one from that group that tree stand would be done for the year, hopefully I made the right choice. I actually have lots of picture of that buck there mid day who know maybe things will work out as planned. Either way it's been a lot of fun so far I wouldn't change a thing. If I had been in the tree myself and my equipment would have been totally soaked and trailing would have been very poor.
Good Luck everybody.

Here is poor Gourdy. He got his name from the dinosaur gourd we used for his head. His skeleton is 2" PVC pipe pivoted on a metal rod driven into the ground so Gourdy will turn in a breeze. The metal rod was bent at the ground level and Gourdy's head and PVC shoulders were near the creek.
Gourdy's body was stuffed with plastic grocery bags and bread bags but Gourdy has been up for at least 3 years. Maybe Gourdy moved in a breeze and Bertha attacked. Anyway, here are a few pics.

-
Some of the targets at our range were stuffed with plastic bags. The bears ripped them to shreds. Apparently they have come to associate the smell of plastic with food. Go figure ;)
-
Rest in pieces Gourdy.......... :)
-
Gourdy may have looked a little like a clown.....Can't have no clowns hanging around the garden... >:D
-
Very sorry to hear about Gourdy Pat
-
We were planning to redo Gourdy anyway. I have a few adjustments to make then set him back up. Gourdy hasbeen up for about 3 years now and this is the first bear attack.
-
I know you like your wild critters around Pat, but I ant sure about have a bear that close, they ant dogs or Cats. ;)
Pappy
-
I think that bear was sending you a message with Gourdy. Maybe it's time to get a bear tag Pat.
-
I hate to say it Pat, but I kinda gotta go with Pappy and Osage. I know you know more about living with bears than I do, but I hope they share your respect for your family the same as you do for theirs. I know your no dumbie and enjoy watching them but a little fear of humans might be a good thing. I hope this doesn't offend you but I'd sure hate to see you or your loved ones hurt. They are probably no more dangerous than a lot of humans but some of them need to be scared off too.
Bjrogg
-
I'm not offended at all. We've lived here 26 years. Any time we have a personal encounter with a bear the bear always ran off, even a big sow with 3 cubs a few years ago. They are always active this time of year looking to fatten up before winter. Most of the time we find bear scat it is full of bird seed, their #1 food source this time of year. Looks like we will have a good acorn crop this year so bear activity will slow down a bit because of that.
In the city limits of Asheville the DNR has tagged 30 to 40 bears that live inside the city. They raid dumpsters , trash cans and bird feeders but seem to leave people alone.
We aren't being stupid about these bears but we do live with them and respect them and what they are capable of if provoked. I've had a compost pile here since we move here in 1990 and the bears have never bothered it, crows and coons yes but not the bears(at least not so far).
-
That's good to know Pat, like I said I'm sure you know more about living with the Bears than me and I know your no dummy. Hope all your encounters are good ones.
Bjrogg
-
Well the big guy is no more. Nieghbors got him with the crossbow last night. I'm just glad no poachers got him. Hopefully he father a bunch of nice offspring. Really gonna miss him. It was an honor to share this piece of earth with him.
Bjrogg
I case I forget what he looked like
-
That looks like a different deer from the one you previously posted. Not just the velvet but the space between the beam tips I mean. The news gets around fast about a big buck shot. They do that by me too.I was very alarmed and pissed when I saw a big buck just across the fence with just his head cut off and that was it.It was before deer season too.
My neighbor used to lease his ground out to strangers. He does'nt do that any more.
-
Ed, this is a different buck than the one from opening day under my stand post. I think he's still out there as far as I know. I posted pictures of this one back on maybe page 2 or 3 of the thread. I think there's still a few nice ones around here yet but this was the big guy.
Bjrogg
-
I'm sure there are still some big ones left for you BJ.
-
I'm sure there's still some out there Osage, not sure if there for me. Who knows maybe there's even a bigger one nobody has seen yet. Either way I'm happy just to get out there and see them once and a while. Man he sure was a majestic looking one right in his prime. Would have been fun watching him spar with his buddies
Bjrogg
-
Bj a button buck takdn with your own tackle is a trophy😀
-
I agree with ya bubby......and I'd go as far to say a big old doe from the ground taken with your own tackle would be a trophy .... and with your own stone point ....well ????? how many people have done it.......???
DBar
-
Going out to camp for the weekend .............hope to have a few more pics to share..
We have had some neighbors trail cams produce some bear pics at the feeders...........bears are unheard of in my area they are typically over a 100 miles away....but I guess its a young bear expanding his territory..........
DBar
-
Bubby and Dbar, I hope I'm not sending the wrong message. Believe me if I get anything it's gonna be the best trophy I've ever gotten. Sure wish I'd of gotten that doe. So close but so far away. I might not end up with anything but when I shoot my bow and arrows that I hunted with its almost a trophy already. It just feels good carrying it to and from my spot. I think I'm hopelessly hooked
Bjrogg
-
Looks like he likes those apples.

Just got back from a long weekend at camp, the small 10pt and the forked G2 is still hanging around. You guys had better hurry up and get here ..... :)
-
WOW! Those are some nice bucks Bill.
-
Looks like you better bring your spotlights. ;D
-
Hey Pat...I'm starting to see these guys during the day time in other places, but the rut will be kicking in in a couple of weeks. Then I'll be see these guys all day...:)
Right now their just checking out where the girls have been...:) ;)
DBar
-
You guys timed your visit at the perfect time. Halloween and the first few days of November have always been my best days for killing mature bucks. They should be cruising during the day. Bill's place is only 2 hours away from me so the timing should be the same. I've always done better in the mornings. I think I've only killed one mature buck during an evening hunt and that was in 2008. The rest have all been before 10:00 am. I hope you guys get to see some action.
-
I hope to see you then........;)
DBar
-
Good luck to you guys. I look forward to the pics. 8)
-
I will try and get some pictures up tomorrow, I pulled one card yesterday for below my old bard where I keep my wood stash, it has been there 10 days and had 303 pictures, no real big buck but one pretty good 8 and I am pretty sure a 7 ;) and several smaller ones, along with lots of doe. All hours of the day and night. :)
Pappy
-
Bill those are some BIG deer. I can hunt several seasons between seeing anything like that within eye shot. Wow......as if I wasn't excited already :)

My one neighbor called him the Elk. I'm gonna miss him Zuma he sure was a beautiful majestic Buck. Truly blessed to have been able to see him in the wild.

And thanks for the pics and fun. :)
He would have looked nice on your den wall. ;)
Zuma
PS this little prong horn is all I've seen so far this year.
Almost frost last night so the horns will be showing up
I hope
-
We had a good white frost yesterday morning. I haven't been able to get out much lately to busy farming and 5th birthday party for my oldest grandson. Maybe next week I can sneak a hunt or two in
Bjrogg
-
Anybody know what tis first picture is, maybe a dog, the face wasn't clear, strange. A small buck and one that ant to bad. :)
Pappy
-
Few more, had about 300 but a lot of repeats . :)
Pappy
-
Nice pictures Pappy, looks like a good hunting spot. That 1st picture seems like it's a very skinny dog. Maybe that's who Sally has been hanging around with.
Bjrogg
-
Ya maybe she has, it is a big son of a gun I will say that. :)
-
Yea it looks like a big starving dog to me. I hate when people from town just drop there pets off out in the wild. It used to happen a lot around here, not so much with dogs anymore but still cats everywhere there's stray cats.
Bjrogg
-
Well just got back from checking the trail cams....got plenty of doe................................
-
Short Brow is showing up during the day time..............
-
But the little 10 pt and forked G2 is still nocturnal and starting to get nasty with each other.......
-
Another week or two and they won't care if it's day or night. There's no time for sleep when you only get laid one month out of the year.
-
Dakota, You've got that right!!!
DBar
-
That's a great spot Bill. Those are some very nice bucks. I'm going to check my camera tomorrow
-
Those are some nice bucks Bill, That one with the split looks like a Mule deer. Yup won't be long now. Their diffenitly getting More serious with the sparing here now the dirt is flying and their really shoving each other around hard now.

I swapped memory cards out on my way in from hunting this morning. Got a few decent pictures.
I threw a leafy osage branch out in front the camera. This coyote must not have where it was. He drug it 10 yards to the edge of the field.

-
Nice pictures Clint...........That gives me an idea.
I think next time I change SD cards I'll make a false scrape in front of the camera and see what happens............
DBar
-
Bill, that scrape has been under that cedar tree for as long as I can remember. It's there every year. I think that scrape is the busiest spot on our entire property. When we hung up our stands we bent down a hackberry limb over a trail by one of the stands and tied it off. We are hoping they turn it into a scrape. I have been staying out of that stand until the bucks are out in daylight so I don't know if it worked or not.
-
Good pictures guys, some nice deer in your woods.
Bill I can't wait to roll into deer camp in a couple weeks.
Clint I hope you drop in on us sometime that week, get your deer so your free for a visit.
-
Here's a wolf carrying a deer head up at our camp. You can just make out my buddy's tree stand ladder on the oak in the upper left. He's not very excited about this poacher.

Look at that potbelly on that wolf. He filled up on that deer.
-
Nice pictures. :)
Pappy
-
These are some nice pictures on here.
-
Bill you are making the next two weeks slooooowwwww down even more with those pics.
-
Wow that's cool.......That wolf looks like some German Shepards we have running around........
DBar
-
Bill you are making the next two weeks slooooowwwww down even more with those pics.
I put out corn to keep the doe around but the corn hasn't been eaten this year like in past years. I think it's due to the acorn crop. There's acorns everywhere. That will make hunting in big woods much harder this year. But better in the later season. I sure hope we can get on them when you and Greg are down.
DBar

I'm trying guys. These hot temperatures are making it difficult. Thursday will be a 2 week stretch that I've only hunted one time. If a good buck walks by me before that weekend I'll be there ;)
-
A new buck has taken over the scrape. He has showed up the last 3 mornings before daylight to work it. He's got a messed up rack on one side. The name Snaggle Rack instantly came to mind when we saw the pictures. Best I can tell he's got 6 points on one side and 3 on the other. His neck is starting to swell up. He should be cruising during daylight soon.

Nice deer, cool looing rack on him.

I love checking my camera this time of the year. I never know what new bucks will be on it. This is the first time this guy has showed up. I'm glad to see one out during the daylight.

Bjrogg

That's a Dandy there Clint ! Good luck - Bob.

Someone asked the little buck if he wanted some
corn nibblets. He lifted his tail and said "Afeew!" >:D
Zuma
-
Great pic's Clint!!! ...But I'm a little disappointed in mine. I've not got many pictures over the corn this weekend ...I think there is tooo many acorns around....but the fact is ...I have not seen the small 10 pt or the forked G2 at all this weekend :( I have see many scrapes in places I have not seen them before . Only "Short Brow" has shown him self. All the deer hocks are starting to darken in the pic's I've got. which is good ....Its been an unusual fall this year in my area ........but I have seen lots of deer...

Bill, those bucks have shifted their attention from food to the ladies.

I'm going to shift their attention to hanging from Bills buck pole! Stay away from me if you know what's good fro you, buck-a-roo's!

If they stay within 10 yds, then they will be safe Chris! >:D

Aint that the trufe!

That is very cool, Pappy.

That's a nice buck Pappy. It's always cool to get pictures of them before the shot. My neighbor shot the wide 10 point that I have been getting pictures of.

Ya my neighbor killed 2 that I had been seeing, a wide 8 and really good 9 but it happens every year when the muzzle loader season opens, I have just gotten use to it. ::)
