Title: Simple feather grinding clamp
Post by: PeteC on October 12, 2008, 01:59:33 pm
I have several different gadgets I use to hold the feathers I'm grinding. But I came across this the other day,and it's so simple ,and works so well,I thought I'd share. It is a industrial door hinge, with duct tape applied to the inside,to prevent the feather from slipping. Then clamped shut with a small pair of vice-grips.then grind, either by hand,(sanding block,or piece of sandpaper on a clipboard),or with a belt-sander ,as I'm using in the picture.  The hinge in the picture is 5",and I cut feathers 5 1/2",but it still works great.A larger hinge would probably even be better.   God Bless

Good idea, wiil have to get one, and might as well break down and get a belt sander as well.    Kenneth

I use something very similar, and it works pretty good.
