Title: Persimmon bendy handle 50# @ 26”
Post by: Mo_coon-catcher on July 03, 2020, 05:45:51 pm
Here’s one of a few bows I’ve made when the jiujitsu and Judo gyms were down for a couple months.

This one is an asymmetrical persimmon bendy handle pulling 50# at 26”. It is dolled up with ball python shed on the back, the handle wrap is Burmese python skin, the under and overlays are Osage. The reason for the underlays is from the Belly splitting as I curved them. This is the first one that has cracked out almost all the way through, even being hot enough you couldn’t hold your hand to the wood. Oh well, it works and doesn’t look too bad.
It’s 53” from nock to nock and 1.5” wide from fade to midlimb. And just over 3/8” wide at the string grooves.

Thanks for looking,

Kyle

Looks good!  A little heavy, though!  As long as it shoots straight!

Wow. Love it - that is a very nice bow.
Guess I will never get my hands on persimmon wood...
The skins look good too...
