Got this doe earlier this evening with that rawhide backed ERC I finished up about three weeks back. It's really quiet. There were two other mature does and two spring fawns with her. They didn't run only paused in their eating. This one jumped then walked about twenty yards and stood around for a few seconds before falling over. I finally ran off the others about twenty some minutes later. Could have shot three more, but the edge was off. You know how that goes.
I've gotten several deer and assorted other game with traditional and primitive gear now. This is the first one with a bow that I have made myself though. It does add something to it.

Yeah, I understand how the keen edge can be lost when you already have one down!
Great work, nice looking bow!

Nice job. I agree, once one is down I begin to think of the amount of work ahead. A nice buck would push me over the edge though.

Yeah, if the other grown doe had stood there sniffing the bloody arrow for another second or so I'da gone ahead and got her. As it was she looked up and saw me start to draw, so the jig was up. That's alright. Our season runs through February. Not to mention I got a couple trips to Kansas to visit buddies and hunt too. Plenty left.
