Kinda hate to start a new Classic thread but Pappy and Myself were talking and we need some info We try to take care of our
PA folks and we would like to know what day you are coming and how you are staying camper, trailer, tent, back of truck, front seat of car,
on the ground (remember the creek that runs through the camp) We try to rope off a spot big enough for all the PA folks to camp
together. If you put that info here and we can talk back and forth on the other thread We are both getting old (sorry Pappy)
and its hard to keep up with on the large threads We will always try to take special requests but cant make any promises like
who snores, who makes weird noises or sleep walks. Thanks guys and gals just a little over 30 days till opening day of the start of

Ron, as of now Wade(n2everything) and I are planning on coming on Thursday. I think we(at least I) will be in a tent. I will keep you updated as we get closer. Gosh, only 30 days! :o

Me and my buddy Snakeman (Erik) are coming. We will be sleeping in 7 by 7 tents and we will get there sometime Wednesday evening or Thursday morning. I can sleep anywhere as long as I am not under water. :) I was all the way at the end by a really big hill on the right last year and it was perfect for me. :) Thanks!

Plan on getting there Thursday hopefully midday. Camper shell, with a 10x10 pop up canopy that I like to set up over my tailgate, if there is room.

Ron/Pappy.... I am planning on being there late Wednesday...unless my Landlord/Big Buddy ....Ronnie/Cracker isn't going to be there by then... I guess I will sleep in my Car.... :P

Don't know what day I'll be there, may have to hash that out with Jesse. Will be the standard tent settup - I can live anywhere ;D.

Lulyn and I should be there on Thursday evening or Friday morning. ;D ;DI'm pushing for Thursday but she's visiting her sis when we get to Kentucky so it going to be hard to drag her away. We are both working on getting them to go as well.

Myself and one friend. Probably arriving late Wed night. One tent each (and if it's raining like a cow pissing on a rock, I will be moving to the back of my truck).

Hope to be there sometime Thursday. Its a long lonesome drive from Meeteetse, Wyoming so have to push! Stopping in Neb. to hunt turkeys so that breaks up the trip going. Working hard to get all my projects done for the Classic. Have the bow quiver part of the plains style quiver done so working on the arrow quiver. Really appreciate all the offers for donations to this project and looking forward to seeing it all come together! Will try to have someone post a picture when its finished. Joe

Well the Company I work for decided to move the N.C.C.O Recertification Tests(crane operators test) from the 19th of April to the 28th....so I won't be down till at least Thursday now....wanted to be there a lot sooner....I just hope I can do all of My Tests ...and the Hands On Evaluations...all in one Day....otherwise...I may not get to go...I have to have these to keep my Job....this SUX........ >:(

I am going to try my Damndest...I gave them 4 months warning that My Certifications were going to lapse...and they drug their feet till they did...the Card ran out in November...now I have to recertify on all levels...Large and Small Hydraulic...Lattice Boom Crawler...and Lattice Boom Truck Mount...and Tower and Overhead Crane...all in one day...and then I have to do the Hands On...on the Large...Small...and Lattice Boom the same day....am I going to be Stressed out!!

I know you can do it though Mike... anyone who can play on the internet on their phone and operate a crane at the same time HAS to know what they are doing!! :P ;)

EL/D: You mean you won't have someone on the head set trying to tell you what to do during all that testing?? I always trusted the operator, but never the guy that was trying to land a load! You will do fine. Looking forward to seeing you at Twin Oaks! Also if the fellow doing the testing is like some welding inspectors I have known, he can't do what you can do on a crane! Joe

Thanks Joe....I always get myself all worked up for these Hands On Tests...You Spend Your whole Life learning to do a Job...They (the Company and Safety Department) tell you to take your time and do everything right...You have all the time and right to do it safely...no Rush....they give you a Rigger to help guide in the Loads...you have either Hand Signal...or Radio Contact at all times...Then They put you in this Test Scenario...No Rigger...no Spotter....no Idea how far the distances are between the 55 Gallon Drums that you have to Lower the Ball into one(which is 6 inches bigger than the Ball)....then start swinging and booming to drop the Ball into the next Barrel...and you have 1 1/2 minutes to complete it....then theres the Obstacle Course....where you have a 1200 pound weight on the Hook and you have to boom up and swing...and boom down and swing this weight through the Zigzag Course...without knocking any Tennis Balls off the 1 1/4" PVC Pipe Posts...and to top it off...they throw in a Stop Watch....and tell You to hurry...because you only have 2 minutes to run the Course...in one Direction...the turn around and do it in reverse..........wish me luck........

Well I need to finalize my plans but so far it looks like just me and Bob this year, hopefully leave wendsday evening after work and get there some time thursday morning.....Same wall tent as usual. Shannon, I can bring ya a extra cot this year if you wanta stay in the tent again. We'll have plenty of extra room.

I'm pretty sure I'll be attending my first TN Classic. I was told to be there on Thursday to get in on the bowmaking process, but not sure what time on Thursday it'll be starting. I'll be coming from Knoxville. The only tent I've got is my big family-sized 4-6 person tent, I probably won't bring it unless someone out there would like to share, since it takes up so much space. If not, I'll just sleep in the back of my truck. :)

Well I am really mad now....no.....I am P@#$d Off....now they just told Me at our Monday Morning Meeting....that My Testing is going to be split up....now my testing runs from 26-29th....and my Hands On is scheduled for all day on Friday...the 30th..... so there goes the Classic for Me this Year.... can't justify leaving late Friday night....just to leave early Sunday morning.....man these big Corporations don't give a Rats Ass about People and Their Lives....sorry for the Rant....I am just really hurt....that after 27 years of dedicated service....they can't even try to work with me on this....role me if I.missed it....I would have to fly to Florida and take it on my own time...and pay for it too...

Ron....You don't know how much I have been waiting for this to come back around.....I have not had a better time in my Life....(Besides getting Married...and starting my Family)....than I had that week with You All....I have never felt so "At Home" in my life...than I felt there amongst the Trees....and the Creek.....it's going to be along year without being there..... El D, Twin Oaks is hosting the World IBO tournament in July come on down then. It won't be quite the same but dang, at least you'll get a fix. I wish I lived closer like Sawfiler. Pappy would probably get tired of my ugly mug.

Joe.....I too will miss seeing and sitting around with you this yer also...had a great time sitting and talking last year about the Elk Herds...going to miss meeting Justin and his wife....man this is disheartening to say the least...Pappy....you and your Hospitality will ne what I will miss the most though....I will try to get my donation to the Clubs Raffle sent to you as soon as I get a day to send it.....battery is about dead on my Phone...gotta go...

Well that really Blows, Mike. I'm sweating out the same thing. We are going through some major overhauls in the Drilling dept., and it's mostly because of my criticism and biotching to the President and VP of the company about lack of training. Guess he has been recommended to head up training and the new Safety Committee?

Marie...it ain't no April Fools Joke....I wish it were...then I could show up late at night.. sneak on in....and just come to Breakfast and surprise everyone....but Mr. Zachry don't run the Company any more...it was split between the Two Sons...and they could care less about the Workers now...not like it was when Bartel was running it....I am still squabbling with them...might have a better answer come next Friday...never know maybe Pappy will be right...and they will change their Minds again before the Classic... All I know is that I will surely miss You All this Spring...if I don't get over there for my Fix of Tennessee Suthin Hospitality...thats for sure... and just maybe I can get done by lunch...and drive a 100....and be ther by 4 am Saturday........ >:D

Would have really liked to have met you also...and Yeah...it's a little on the Big side...don't really know what it weighs...or what FedEx or UPS would charge to send it either...as for the Classic...I am really upset that I may not make it...I just can't see me driving there for one day and driving back...that would be 24 hours of driving for one day at Pappys....it would be hard to pull off...

Looks like I will be there on Friday afternoon and leaving on Sunday afternoon. I'll be driving my little Honda Civic and will probably be staying in a small tent close to my car, if possible. If there isn't any more room then I'll climb into Pat B's tent and sleep in his sleeping bag with him! >:D Hahaha....how funny would that be....Pat trying to get into his sleeping bag when a 250 lb "bear" is already in there!! hahaha

Well looks like El Destructo and I switched places, must be the name. Looks like I'm not going to make it, I wrote out all the things I have to get done this month and mid May and it's just not adding up for me. I will have to start planning for next year.

Pappy and Ron,
I talked with VB again last night and I plan to be there on Saturday the 24th to start setting up the 2 tents, one for VB and his wife and one for me and who ever shows up from the family this year. Bonnie (The better half of my life) and the kids may come for a few days again this year like the past few years. I'll be there again this Saturday to lend a hand where it's needed.
