...fell to my bow. Killed this fox squirrel this evening with my 40 lb osage self bow and reed arrow tipped with a small side-notched point made of Flint River jasper. This is the same bow I used in my bird point article, and I gotta tell ya...that little bow is nothing to laugh at. The more I shoot that bow, the more I am impressed with it. It may only pull 40 lbs., but it is accurate, easy to draw, and incredibly deadly! I was sitting in a brush blind with my dad when this squirrel hopped into a tree right above us. It jumped to another tree and stopped, facing away from us but looking over his shoulder at us. It was about 40 feet away, so I fixed an arrow to the string and hit him right behind his right shoulder, the arrow exiting thru his left shoulder blade and knocking him out of the tree at the moment the arrow hit. My dad immediately said "HOLY $#%^!" I got out of the blind and bopped him on the head. Gonna use his skin for something and his meat will feed my fat belly!
Hey....STONE POINTS WORK!! :)

That's good shooting! I've always heard..."aim small, miss small", but that small of a target you really got to aim very small! ;)

My small game harvests are as memorable as any. Nice job!

i hit a squirrel like that one time with one of my "squirrel blunt" stone points and the sucker ran to the top of the tree carrying my arrow with it. when he fell, it was a three way fight between the squirrel, a pit bull, and myself. it was a funny story, hopefuly it will be in pa soon. squirrels are some tough critters!

Good shot billy, and I agree; I remember the small game shots just as vividly as the big game shots. Merry Christmas, and God Bless
