Hi Folks
Last autumn I built 2 very similar bows - the Goldeneye Twins. With these I learnt a lot about length of bows, width of bows, stacking of bows @ set of bows. They both took set like bananas. Now I refined Nr. 2 by heat treating with stunning results; it‘s a quick bow now with a 5 strand B452X racing string :BB
It‘s 61“ and pulls 43 @ 25“ - Wood ist rowan @ it weighs 398 gramms.
Thank you, RatherBinTheWoods, DC, Tim Baker, bjrogg, Carl Galvin, Weylin, Julian, bushboy, 240m3srt, jeffp51, bradsmith2010, loefflerchuck, Archeryrocks, Aksel, CorrodedArcher, S.C. hunter, JWMALONE, upstatenybowyer, redbow22, Msturm, Thunderlizard, PEARL DRUMS/PEARLY/PD/DRUMS, stixnstones, Mo_coon-catcher , M2A, Swamp Thang, Morgan, Greg DeJanes, hoosierf, Parnell, Bob W., Simson, Bow Ed, and all the others,

Nice work, and cool idea with that strike plate. I gotta try that

She's a beauty.

That's sharp. Strike plate in particular. Heat treating really makes a difference, but it is my least favorite thing to do in bow making.
-
Very nice bow. I like it a lot.

By george, I think You've got it! Well done. :OK
-
It's only shot on sundays 8)
-
Man, you nailed that. Gorgeous bow and finish work.
-
Lovely classic lines and details. Really nice.
-
Nothing wrong with that! Finish work is great!
-
Excellet tiller! Jawge
-
Nice work.Congratulations!!

My internet's been down for a couple of days and I missed this. About no 3 or 4 on the strike plate, I will steal that idea.
-
Thats a very nice tillered bow by the look of it. I have tons of rowan growing here. makes me want to give it a go again! usually when i have cut it it has been quite spiraled.. did make a nice longbow once - with a deep rounded belly. That choclate colored heart wood really is a nice contrast to the sap wood.
-
Nice work! strike plate looks awesome.
-
@all: fhanks for not too harsh critisizing my beloved bow
@dc: you get permission but do use the good tools
@aksel: theese trees seem to make the nice heartwood only very late and nice old rowan-trees are difficult to find here. the last couple of sapling staves hasn't any heart wood....still very nice wood. Heat-treat it!
Cheers
