60'' tip to tip 1 3/4 at the fades to midlimb then tapers to 1/2 at the tips. It has Ipe tip overlays and draws 55#@ 25''

That is the simplest steamer I've ever seen.
You've got to be proud of this recurve. Bookmarked, too, for July Self Bow of the Month. Want to email me a larger picture of the full draw? oldbow9634@msn.com

That looks good. Nice bend. I like your boiling setup, too. :)

Thanks! l think boiling limbs is the easiest way to make recurves! l've tried dry heat and steam but boiling is by far the best way for me. ;D I'm working on another one right now and this ones going to have way more curves......if it doesnt break that is. :D

I am just curious how long did you boil the ends and how far down the limb? Thanks great job by the way...

l boiled the limbs for about an hour or so and about 2/3 of the way up the limb from the tips so it would wrap around my form.

Sweet looking bow, very well done. :)

That is a beautiful bow. You did an excellent job on that one. Thanks for sharing. Dean

Extremely nice looking bow! Wish you had a better closeup on the tip overlays...from what I can tell, they look very nice! I'll have to try the boiling sometime. ;)

Thanks Everyone!
Greg, sorry bout the bad pictures. l'm not very good at taking photos. :'(
-
Sweet! I love the profile on that one, more curves than the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Very nice, great profile and a little charactor as well. Congratulations.

Greg, sorry bout the bad pictures. l'm not very good at taking photos.
You did a great job on the pictures...all I meant was maybe zoom in close on the tip overlays where they can be seen better. They look really good, but a close up would allow us to enjoy the details more. Great job all around on the bow! ;)
-
Looks very nice ! any chance of a pic of you'r form you used ?
Thanks

Thank you, l've been outside today getting use to the bow for archery season and its a good shooter ( l'm alittle rusty though). And yes, l'm a lefty :P and as for the camera.....l had to ask my wife for help :D People that know me are suprised l even know how to use a computer
Thanks again for the kind words everyone
-
nice one bro...as simple as recurving is, it can still be unnerving and you did an awesome job. Like the horn-lookalike tip overlays too, cool.
-
Thats a fantastic weapon, be proud of that one... I hope you get a big ole buck with it!
You got my BOM vote!!
MIKE

Thanks Mike, l'm not to picky about deer, just as long its a decent size (buck or doe) and that will suit me just fine. :)
-
would like to try a recurve for my next bow, yours is a beauty !! was wondering though does it keep the same thickness all the way from handle to tip?
