Post by: tibor on January 17, 2022, 05:50:49 pm
The bow is made of mouflon horns and elk sinew. It is 33 inches long and its strength is about 50lb / 20inch. The bow is decorated with rattle skin and horse hair

Any velocity data on this sort of bow?
Deadly for sure and fast to get into action.

I've read that a master bow maker of that era could expect to be paid two horses for a good sinew backed horse bow.
A horn bow of this quality would likely bring several times that.
