This is a very hard shooting bow for it's drawweight, probably because of it's light (mass) limbs. The limbs come out of the fades with a belly ridge so they have a 5 edge cross section, in the last 4 before tips they change into a triangular shape.
The td sleeves are home made. Handle is built up with osage and glued in already with reflex. Handle leather is multiple dyed salmon leather (not skin).
Arrow pass is stingray leather.
Tips are black buffalo horn shaped in facetts.

Very nice Simson. Would have never guessed it was a takedown.

Holy cow that is smoking hot man! :D

I love that braced and full draw profile. Very cool bow, Simon. 8) :OK
-
Yeah, thats a very cool bow...
-
Another fine bow. Great work Simon
-
I admire the results that you achieve on shorter bows. What really speaks to me is the fact that each bow is unique from the handle to the tip over lays.
I have 2 of your bows bookmarked for incentive to build a better bow. This one is one to aspire to - top notch!

Simson,
Class A craftsmanship...60@28 looks like a screamer

Lovely bow!
I would be interested in knowing what kind of epoxy or glue you use to adhere the wood into the metal takedown sleeves?
-
Wow! Lots of cool things about this one, beautiful
-
Very nice Simon. What are the black rings at the handle made of?
-
wow, that`s a dream Simon!

Another awesome bow Simon! Nice to see those five curves, not many people make those. You got this bow working to the max at fulldraw too, string is almost 90 degrees. Great bow! Oh love that is is kinda snakey as well (AT)
-
Nice work

And they say I make a lot of bows! That's a beauty. You're on your way to 200 my friend!

:OK

I've used "UHU endfest 300" in this case (open time about 2 hours), but I think every good epoxi will work. It's more on preparing the surface, degreasing carefully and rough surface.
Very nice Simon. What are the black rings at the handle made of?
Just a piece of leather lacing, to hide the metal sleeves. When put together you cannot see it's a td (ignoring the mass).

I found a liking on the 5 curves lately, the side profiles are eyecandy. If I remember right I haven't made this design for years.
This one is brought to the limits - you're right, will not draw this bow further. The snakiness is an accident, I hadn't another billet handy.
THANKS everybody for commenting!

very nice master piece, my new favorite,, wish I could shoot that one,,:)

awesome as always! Any way to compare the ridged belly to a hollow belly?

Bob, this is an interesting question.
But to compare we should have the same design, same wood, same length, same weight. Whenever I get the chance, I will do for sure.
Btw. I had hundreds of osage staves in my hands, but never found the perfect for HLD. I continue searching ...
-
thanks for the reply... I was thinking that HLD might be good for a high crown sapling osage bow...?
-
Yes a high crowned sapling is needed. But we also need it free of knots (very high stressed design) and most important the crown must be continous all along the entire length!
-
Heidi Klum's curves don't look that nice! Well . . . it's close anyway! Nicely done as always!
-
WOW!!!!

Beautiful bow.
